The most effective solution to the threat of malaria are long lasting insecticide bednets (LLIN’s). Bednets treated with insecticide help repel mosquitos from transferring malaria to humans during the night. Primarily, mosquitos bite during the night and early morning that is why LLIN’s are extremely effective. More than one person can sleep under a bednet for protection. Insecticide treated bednets also help make the entire community safer from it’s sprayed insecticide. The bednet can last up to 3 to 5 years. Furthermore, LLIN’s cost only 10 dollars to produce and send to a family in need. Chip Away Malaria uses all of it’s donations towards LLIN’s.
